Winter Fun!

Winter is here! For many of us, the weather has been colder with more snow than usual. Surprisingly, ice and snow storms reached Florida and Texas! My family has enjoyed playing in the snow, especially our guest student, who loved seeing snow for the first time. Remember, winter can be both beautiful and an opportunity for the whole family to have fun.

Outdoor Fun:

  1. Build a snowman, a snow fort, or igloo
  2. Make snow angels or ice sculptures with food coloring
  3. Enjoy sledding, tubing, skiing or snow shoeing
  4. Go hiking, to the zoo or a winter festival

Indoor Fun at home:

  1. Do puzzles and crafts (Paper snowflakes, Valentine’s)
  2. Play board games and group games
  3. Watch movies and read books together
  4. Make soup, stew, hot cocoa and cookies

Indoor Adventures:

  1. Go to an inflatables, climbing, trampoline, or water park
  2. Enjoy indoor sports: bowling, basketball, ice skating, swimming
  3. See a movie, concert, or a show at a theater
  4. Learn together at an art, history, or science museum

As a host parent, you are doing a fantastic job and are appreciated. You are making a positive and lasting impact. As Christians, we strive to remember and keep Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Sharing our lives, the gospel and fun experiences with our students in this program is done for the glory of God.

Keep up the good work and enjoy your time together.
